January 12-13th
Despite the poor weather, the Bowl is hanging in there, and we'll be training tomorrow and Sunday, as usual. We're hoping for GS training of some sort, but please bring your SL gear too, as our options will be limited by the conditions. We'll make a decision in the morning.
Also, the J3 race at Suicide Six has been CANCELED. They tried to move it to another mountain, but weren't able to. So all groups will be training at the Bowl on Sunday.
Pray for colder weather, and more snow!

Saturday 1/5, Sunday 1/6
The Bowl is expecting a crowd tomorrow, and has requested that we start promptly at 8:30 tomorrow, so we can be off the hill before the traffic on Cameron gets too bad. So please aim to be early, and we will do our best to get a course up as early as possible. It may even be set by the time the lift opens. If not, help out and slip, and let's get things going quickly in the morning.
Here's the plan:
Saturday morning: SL on Cameron in two sections (lift to top of pitch, pitch down). Pull around 10:15-10:30. Drills and guided free skiing until lunch.
J3's and Jones - change in the cabin and meet us on the hill (be on the lift when it opens!)
Ross/Devo - meet Anna in the cabin around 9:00.
Saturday afternoon: More drills, followed by a Tootsie Roll dual. Tuning in the cabin for anyone who needs it. Bring any equipment you have! My own isn't here yet, so I can't lend you anything.
Sunday - J3's at Killington and Jones at Suicide Six.
Ross/Devos and Greta will train GS with Anna and Thea on a trail TBA (probably lower Allen)
See you in the morning!

Christmas Camp 2007
First of all, congratulations are in order to Charlie Dayton, who was the only person crazy enough to join me for a hiked run in the storm Sunday. A bit windy, but it was nice to have "only tracks".
Our new J3 coach Leland Davis will be setting SL on Cameron tomorrow (Friday) at 1:00pm, for all who are interested. Try to let me know if you're planning to go (dan.hutner@gmail.com), so we know how many to expect. And please do your best to help him out with setting and pulling.
Training has gotten off to a good start these first two weeks, and we're already seeing dramatic improvement. Our "Christmas Camp" starts on Saturday, and is a great opportunity to work on some of the more elusive skills that are hard to pick up training just once or twice a week. The schedule this year will be:
Saturday 12/22 - Monday 12/24 (half day), Wednesday 12/26 - Sunday 12/30.
We hope to see you all out there.
This weekend will be a GS focus, with gate training Saturday and Sunday mornings on Lower Allen, then drills, video, and directed free skiing in the afternoons. Monday will be a half day, with SL training in the morning on a trail TBA.
As always, the latest training and race information is available on the website's new calendar at http://www.middskiclub.com/calendar.html . This is directly linked to my own calendar, so I highly recommend you check this for the very latest information.
See you all soon,
-Dan

Storm tomorrow (12/16), and practice
Despite the storm tomorrow, we'll do our best to get some training in. What we do will depend entirely on the weather, but we will be going out, usual times (8:30 J3 and Jones, 9:00 Devo/Ross/Hopeful). If you miss us, we won't be hard to find, just wait at the bottom of the lift.
If the weather is looking particularly bad, afternoon practice may be canceled.
Drive carefully tomorrow, and enjoy the fresh powder!

On-snow training this weekend!
The Bowl is opening, and we'll be on snow this Saturday and Sunday with training for all age groups.
All groups will meet coaches in the Hubbard Cabin (the original lodge), on your left as you pull into the parking lot. For this first weekend, all groups will be going out at 9:00AM, with practice ending around 2:30pm. The club building will be open (and warm) by 8:00 for changing and tuning.
Make sure you've got all your paperwork done, we really don't want to have to turn anyone away on the first day. Copies of all necessary forms are available on the website, and are REQUIRED before training. Be sure you've paid for your passes. You'll want to get up there early so you don't have to miss any skiing time.
Looking forward to seeing you on the hill!
