Our goal is to include everyone who has an interest in joining us. If you have financial concerns, please contact us and we will work together to find a way for your child to ski with us.
In fact, all of the children are subsidized through race revenues. Most of the club's annual operating expenses are raised through hosting races at The Middlebury College Snow Bowl. The funds generated through those races allow us to keep our membership dues and fees lower than many if not all other ski clubs in Vermont.
Being involved with the races can be a lot of fun. It provides an opportunity to be on the hill watching some really good ski racing, an opportunity to learn more about the sport, and an opportunity to meet a lot of interesting and dedicated people. We depend on our community to staff the races, and require each family to provide a minimum of 4 race work days. However, many of us enjoy being involved and work more than the minimum.
Information about race day positions are explained in the Race Worker Policy (PDF 46K). We encourage all parents to become licensed alpine officials and are more than happy to help you reach that goal.
