About Us
Club Mission & Goals
The Middlebury Ski club is a non-profit organization of families and friends with the common goal of promoting healthy activity through alpine skiing and of supporting and developing skiers and ski racers. Our goal is to provide a fun and safe environment in which each of our youngsters can develop as people and achieve their personal skiing goals. To achieve this, the club focuses on developing strong fundamental skiing skills, understanding of the mind and body aspects of racing, promoting commitment, hard work, and sportsmanship. As a club suited to racers 14 and younger, we emphasize fun and growth over strict competition.
Coaches
Our coaches have solid experience in teaching skiing fundamentals and racing as well as a commitment to our club philosophy. Our coaches value personal growth, safety and fun. All have raced, and have many years of coaching experience between them.
Training
Dry land training (consisting of outdoor games and activities) is held on Sundays starting in mid October and continuing until the Snow Bowl opens. Places and times to be announced. The Middlebury Ski Club trains on weekends for the duration of the ski season at the Middlebury College Snow Bowl. There is also training during the week between Christmas and New Year's Day, and a week during February which coincides with the local school vacation schedule.
Facilities
The Club is very grateful to have the generous support of The Middlebury College Snow Bowl and its staff, the coaches and athletes of the Middlebury College Ski Team, and the many local volunteers and sponsors who help out at race time and with our programs.
